Coates PTA

Coates is proud to have a wonderful Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that works with the principal to make Coates a great school. PTA volunteers can help in many different ways. Some help out with planning community events for the school, some give a few hours to help the office or library staff with tasks, and some help raise money to buy things the school needs. Any parent can help!

FCPS Cares

FCPS Cares is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.

Business and Community Partnerships

The Business and Community Partnerships office’s primary functions are to recruit and supports Ignite Partnerships, serve as a liaison to local Chambers of Commerce and other community organizations, help lead the annual Collect for Kids school supply drive, manage the FCPS Donations Portal for donated goods, and promote the Savings for Staff merchant discount program.

In the last decade, the Business & Community Partnerships team has helped secure over ten million dollars in donations of money and valued goods through partnerships and direct donations, not including the value of volunteer hours contributed by partners and mentors.

Give the gift of your time by volunteering with our great school!

Take an active role in your child's life by showing your child the value you place on education. Parent volunteers can get to know teachers, share information, see what happens in the classroom and reinforce those lessons at home.

Being a volunteer has many benefits:

  • Learn about classes and curriculum.
  • Build relationships with teachers and staff.
  • Show the value you place on education.
  • Learn how problems at school are resolved.

Come Join our great volunteer program today!

Come and join Helping Hands 1 2 3 once a month, the first Tuesday of each month from 09:30-10:30. Meet other moms as we cut, paste and do various craft works for the teachers. We also watch a 10 min video of the discipline program 1 2 3 and share our ideas on the video as we compare to those used at home. The 1 2 3 program is a discipline program used in the FCPS.
