Mrs. BellmanMs. Bellman ESOL Teacher

Ms. Bellman has been teaching for FCPS for 20 years. She teaches English to students at Coates during the day and to adults in the evening at Chantilly High School. Her undergraduate degree is from George Washington University and her masters is from George Mason University. Ms. Bellman loves to read and grow flowers and vegetables in her yard. She has 2 grown daughters, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and goldfish.

Mrs. FotopoulosMrs. Fotopoulos ESOL Teacher

Mrs. Fotopoulos joined Coates ES as an ESOL teacher in 2015. She was an ESOL teacher at McNair ES and Bull Run ES for ten years. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from University of Western Ontario in Canada and her Master's degree in Education from Boston University. Reading and traveling are her favorite activities.

Mrs. HandoMrs. Hando ESOL Teacher

Stephanie Hando has taught high school and pre-school, but she is happiest here at Coates teaching ESOL to amazing children from all over the world. She’s been with Coates since it opened in 2009. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Mary Washington College, a master’s degree in teaching English from Boston University’s School of Education, and a post-graduate certificate in teaching ESOL from Shenandoah University. Her favorite things in teaching are connecting with students and helping them grow in their English language ability and confidence. She loves learning about languages and cultures and travels when she can. She lives in Herndon with her daughter so you might see her around town.

Mrs. MadsenMs. Madsen ESOL Teacher

Ms. Madsen has been an ESOL teacher in Fairfax County for 12 years. She started her teaching career at Bull Run Elementary in Centreville and came to Coates in 2012. Ms. Madsen attended VA Tech for her undergraduate and got her Masters of Education from George Mason University with her specialty in English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL). She has a daughter and son who attended VA Tech as well. For fun she likes to garden, spend time at the beach, and ride bikes with her husband.

Mrs. VibasMrs. Vibas ESOL Teacher

Mrs. Vibas began her teaching career with Fairfax County Public Schools in 2005. She joined the Coates staff in 2012. Mrs. Vibas earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in ESOL from George Mason University. During her teaching career, she has worked with each grade level in grades K through 6. She believes strongly that all of her students have the potential of becoming anything they put their minds to, and she encourages them to always be the best that they can be. When Mrs. Vibas is not at school, she is at home with her husband, two boys, two dogs and two cats! She loves the beach, the movies, and relaxing on the weekends with her family.
