Mrs. McPherson I started working as a Family Liaison at Coates ES in 2014. Before that, I worked as a home visitor for the HIPPY program - Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters - since 2007. Through HIPPY, I was able to connect with parents and support them in becoming their child’s first teachers at home. This program taught me how important is to engage with our families, understand their background and give them the tools to help them engage with their kids and later to be an active parent in their child’s school. My role as a Family Liaison gives me the same opportunity as the HIPPY program to connect with our families and team up with the teachers to promote parent engagement. I am from Quito – Ecuador. Hablo Español! My husband Mike and I have 4 children and 2 dogs😊 |
