Ms. Cooper joined the 3rd grade team in 2021. She grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Following her undergraduate years, Ms. Cooper graduated from George Mason University receiving her masters in Elementary Education. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling with her dogs Snickers and Sweetie! |
I am from Hawaii and received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. I have taught 2nd and 4th grade in Hawaii, but am excited to teach in Virginia at Coates where there is just as much diversity as in Hawaii. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and shopping! |
Mrs. Forte joined the third grade team in 2015. She started her teaching career as an elementary school teacher in Arlington Independent School District (AISD) in Arlington, Texas. Mrs. Forte taught third grade for three years at Stenwood Elementary and she taught fourth grade for one year at Freedom Hill Elementary. Mrs. Forte graduated from UTA with her undergraduate degree in Broadcast Communications and went back to school to obtain her teaching license in Elementary Education. She can be often seen spending quality time with her husband Anthony and volunteering at McLean Bible Church. Mrs. Forte loves cooking, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her husband for relaxation. |
Mrs. Grubbs is joining the 3rd grade team this year! She earned her Bachelors and Masters degree at James Madison University. This will be her 9th year teaching, 6th year in Fairfax County. Mrs. Grubbs loves learning about all subjects, especially math and reading! She has taught 1st, 2nd and 4th grade. Mrs. Grubbs was born and raised here in Virginia. She loves the changing of the seasons and all the fun activities Virginia has to offer! She can be found going for walks, hikes or traveling to new places! She loves listening to audio books and doing her nails. Mrs. Grubbs' favorite place to be is the beach! She enjoys spending time with her dogs, Doug and Oreo, her husband, family and friends! |
Mrs. Rangel joined the Coates team in 2022. She has worked as a Gifted Resource Teacher as well as a classroom teacher for students in 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Mrs. Rangel completed her undergraduate and graduate work at California State University Bakersfield. In her spare time Mrs. Rangel enjoys spending time with her family, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and taking long walks while listening to podcasts. She is delighted to be a Star! |
