Mr. Green
6th Grade Teacher

Mr. Green is a native of Redlands, California. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences. He has an extensive background in working with young people. He previously served as a 5th -8th Grade teacher, Youth Pastor, Child Protective Services Case Manager and a Youth and Family Specialist. Mr. Green's commitment to students is characterized by an unwavering commitment and compassion to raise up leaders that walk in integrity and with insight.

Mrs. Herring
6th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Herring joined Coates in 2018. She graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and taught PE in Brazil for six years. She then moved to South Florida, where she taught preschool and Kindergarten for six years before moving to North Carolina. In Charlotte, she taught first, third and middle school science for ten years. Mrs. Herring is a vegetarian, loves dark chocolate and enjoys running. She is married and has two daughters. Mrs. Herring has a passion for traveling and learning about new cultures. She looks forward to another wonderful year teaching sixth graders at Coates

Ms. Martin
6th Grade Teacher

Miss Martin is looking forward to teaching another year of Sixth Grade at Coates. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington where she played 5 years of college basketball. She loves all sports and is currently the Varsity Assistant Coach for Field Hockey at Westfield HS and Varsity Assistant Coach for Basketball at Stone Bridge HS. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family.
