Supply Lists for 2021 - 22
This year, school will provide most supplies, but there are a few things families need. Click here for the list.
Digital Resources Parental Consent
Our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. Make sure you have completed the required forms.
Creating Reading Routines at Home
The best way you can support academics at home is keep your child reading. This page has practical resource from Coates teachers on how to promote at-home reading at your child’s level.
Fairfax County Public Schools to Host Virtual Job Fair
FCPS will conduct interviews with candidates at a Virtual Job Fair on Friday, September 24. FCPS is searching for individuals to serve as student monitors and school public health/COVID case managers.
Anticipated Bus Delays
Due to the bus driver shortage, we will be increasing “double back” bus runs, meaning a bus is required to run two scheduled routes back to back that would normally have been covered by two separate buses. These “double backs” may impact delivery time to schools or bus stops and may have a domino effect, affecting after-school drop-off times.
Required School Immunization Appointments Available
Documentation of immunization is required for students entering kindergarten, 7th grade, 12th grade, and for new students transferring into FCPS. Now is the time to schedule a free appointment through the Fairfax County Health Department for your child's immunizations.
There is now a new Emergency Broadband Benefit available to eligible households through the Federal Communications Commission. This is a temporary benefit that will help to lower the cost of internet broadband service during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Find out more.
Parent Technology Help Desk
The Parent Technology Help Desk will continue to support parents and students. The number is 1-833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). It will be answered by staff from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
